The School Gate is a free reference published by AutoLegend about the policies eight Australian education departments apply to external NDIS providers seeking access to government school grounds.

Every policy quoted on this site belongs to the body that published it. We quote and link to those documents so you can read them in full; we do not reproduce them in their entirety, and we claim no ownership of them.

Accuracy, and its limits — read this one

We fetched and read every source we cite, and we cite the date each source was published or last updated. Those dates span 2022 to 2026, and the underlying policies change without telling us.

Two jurisdictions are marked on this site as unestablished — the Northern Territory, whose provider documentation we could not retrieve, and the Australian Capital Territory, which publishes no procedure we could locate. Blank cells in our comparison table mean the figure is not published in the sources we read, not that the requirement is zero.

Every source on this site governs government schools. Catholic and independent school systems set their own policies, which we have not read and which this site does not describe.

Before you rely on anything here, check the linked source and its date. We make no warranty that the information is current, complete, or applicable to your situation, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on it.
