The School Gate

Who publishes this, and why

The School Gate is published by AutoLegend. We sell practice-operations software to allied-health practices, and this site exists because the people we build for kept hitting the same wall: a school said no, or sent a form nobody had seen before, and there was nowhere to compare what the state next door does.

That is the commercial interest, stated plainly. The reference material here is free and is meant to be useful to someone who never contacts us.

How this was researched

Every jurisdiction's policy was fetched directly and read. Nothing here comes from a search summary or a secondary write-up. Where a page could not be retrieved — the Northern Territory's provider package sits behind an anti-bot block, and the ACT publishes no procedure we could find — it is marked unestablished rather than filled in from somewhere else. That is why two rows of the comparison table are blank.

What this is not

Not legal advice. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any education department, the NDIA, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, or Speech Pathology Australia. Every policy quoted here belongs to the department that published it and is linked so you can read it in full.

Every state's gate on one sheet

The four-column comparison, printed to keep beside the phone.

The four-column comparison, the two contradictions, and the jurisdictions nobody has published.

  • 01 Who may make the request, per jurisdiction — and the two states that disagree
  • 02 Professional indemnity and public liability minimums, with the blanks left blank
  • 03 The signed instrument each department requires, and who signs it

…and 8 more, including the two published decision clocks and the jurisdictions we could not establish.
